This is a 1:24 scale house that I built for Drafting class my senior year of high school. We each had a special project, and my teacher assigned me to this one. I was to design the house on paper, with his help as far as legal measurments, etc. But I built it all myself. The wood is part balsa, and part pine cut to the same size. There is a foundation (ooops... no basement!) made of styrofoam, wires and pink insulation in the walls, carpet, "wood" floors, wall outlets, etc. The catch is that the whole house was done as a cut-away. The point was to show the way a house is built in real life.
When I drew the plans for the house, I had to design a WHOLE house, then decide which half to build. I did not build the half with the kitchen and bathrooms...I did build two bedrooms, a living room and dining room.
